2026 Boot Kick-Off, Stick Horse Barrel Race Winners Announced

(SHERIDAN, WY — JULY 7, 2026) The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Board kicked off Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week with the annual Boot Kick-Off and Stick Horse Barrel Races Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Whitney Commons Park.

The Stick Horse Barrel Races started the event for children 8 and younger. Participants had to run as fast as possible on their stick horses around barrels and back to the start. The top three winners in each category were:

Ages 4 and Under:

First place – Harry Whitaker (30.13 seconds)

Second place – Finley Lassle (31.36 seconds)

Third place – Maddox Shaffer (31.93 seconds)

Ages 5 & 6:

First place – Gavin Graham (21.28 seconds)

Second place – Wyatt Reid (23.66 seconds)

Third place – Decker Gallagher (24.57 seconds)

Ages 7 & 8:

First place – Leighton Stephens (20.58 seconds)

Second place – Torby Bass (21.26 seconds)

Third place – Mya Gorzalka (21.28 seconds)

The Boot Kick-Off was held following the Stick Horse Barrel Races. Participants competed to see who could “kick off” their boot the farthest. The top three winners in each category were:

Ages 9-12 Girls & Boys:

First place – Breken Hutton (63.3 feet)

Second place – Logan Haluck (58.9 feet)

Third place – Jacob Crayton (58.3 feet)

Ages 13-17 Girls:

First place – Nettie Morris (71.8 feet)

Second place – Fiona Johnson (64 feet)

Third place – Lois Johnson (63.1 feet)

Ages 13-17 Boys:

First place – Finn Stalick (112.10 feet)

Second place – Cole Connors (100.4 feet)

Third place – Derek Kurtz (82.1 feet)

Ages 18 & Up Women:

First place – Megan Sessions (102.1 feet)

Second place – Robbi Ryan (85.6 feet)

Third place – Brittany Gorzalka (73.4 feet)

Ages 18 & Up Men:

First place – Brayden Thomas (116.1 feet)

Second place – Cody Vigoren (115.8 feet)

Third place – Eric Mohl (106.5 feet)

A total of $1,330 in Chamber Bucks was awarded to the winners. The 2026 Boot Kick Off was sponsored by Barney & Graham, LLC.
