Stroll the Valley

New for 2026!

Saturday, Dec. 5 | Tongue River Valley

Stroll the Valley is a new addition to Sheridan’s Christmas Stroll, bringing the holiday shopping celebration to businesses throughout the Tongue River Valley on Saturday, Dec. 5. It’s an opportunity to showcase the valley’s many unique shops, restaurants and businesses and encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine and explore locally.

Businesses located in the Tongue River Valley, including Ranchester, Dayton and surrounding communities, are invited to participate.

No. Businesses can determine their own hours and activities for Stroll the Valley. We encourage participating businesses to offer a special sale, promotion, activity, food or beverage offering or another festive experience for shoppers.

Make it your own! Consider offering:

  • Holiday sales or special promotions
  • In-store activities or entertainment
  • Food or beverage specials
  • Holiday treats
  • Giveaways or drawings
  • Demonstrations or special experiences
  • A holiday-themed shopping experience

The goal is to give customers another reason to shop local, discover something new and experience the businesses that make the Tongue River Valley special.

Every business participating in Christmas Stroll and Stroll the Valley will receive a Stroll Button poster with their own unique number. Community members purchase Stroll Buttons for $5 each, and each button has a unique number. Stroll Button holders visit Stroll participating businesses to see if their button number matches the button number held by the business. If it matches, they win a prize from the business valued at $50 or more.

The Stroll Button fun doesn’t end on Dec. 5! Shoppers can visit participating businesses through Christmas Eve to look for their matching Stroll Button number. It’s another way to encourage shoppers to visit multiple participating businesses throughout the holiday season.

On Dec. 5, the Chamber’s secret elves will be out and about in the Tongue River Valley looking for shoppers wearing their Stroll Buttons at participating businesses.

If our elves “catch” someone shopping, that person wins Chamber Bucks worth up to $200! 🎁

Chamber Bucks can be used immediately at most participating businesses throughout Sheridan County, giving winners even more opportunities to shop local.

Businesses must register by Oct. 20 to be included in Christmas Stroll marketing and advertising featuring participating businesses.

Registration is available online through the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce website at www.SheridanWyomingChamber.org. Businesses may also download a registration packet from the website or pick one up at the Chamber office at 54 S. Main St. in Sheridan.

Yes, the registration fee for Chamber members is $150 + a prize worth $50 or more. For non-Chamber members, the registration fee is $200 + a prize worth $50 or more.

Each business that registers receives 5 Stroll Buttons to sell or giveaway. You also have the opportunity to purchase additional Stroll Buttons that may be sold or given away. Stroll Buttons and a Stroll poster will be delivered to you on Oct. 29 or Oct. 30. You will receive your winning Stroll Button number poster on Nov. 23 and may place it in your business when you open on Stroll Day (Nov. 27). It should remain visible in your business through Christmas Eve. If someone claims your button number, you may note that on your poster.

No. While special offers and activities can help attract shoppers, businesses are welcome to participate in a way that works best for them.
