Benjamin Tippin Has Winning Stroll Button Design
Congratulations to Benjamin Tippin, winner of the 2019 Sheridan Christmas Stroll Button Design Contest! Benjamin’s design was selected by the Stroll Planning Committee based on how well it reflects this year’s Stroll theme, “The 12 Days of Christmas.”
Benjamin, the son of Bethany and Seth Tippin, was in second grade at Highland Park Elementary School when he submitted his design. He is now a third grade student.
As the winner of the button design contest, Benjamin received $100 in Chamber Bucks, a framed design entry provided by Expressions Art Gallery and Framing LLC and Button #1.
Buttons are on sale now at the Chamber and participating businesses. Cost is $5 each. Buttons are sold until Christmas Eve unless they run out. A total of 2,750 buttons are available. Proceeds from the Christmas Stroll and button sales go to new and replacement decorations for the community.
This year’s Christmas Stroll will be held Friday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sheridan’s Main Street and Grinnell Plaza. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be located at the WYO Theater this year along with the free ornament decorating with The Home Depot.
Each participating business will receive a winning button number the night of Stroll. Button holders can visit each participating business to see if their number matches any of those posted in the businesses. Those with a winning number will receive a prize valued at $50 from the business. Button holders also can “Get Caught Shopping” beginning the day after Stroll, Saturday, Nov. 30, and the Saturdays through Dec. 21. Chamber Elves will be out looking for people shopping in local businesses and wearing their Stroll buttons. Those caught have the chance to win up to $250 in Chamber Bucks. A total of $4,000 in Chamber Bucks will be given away.
Sponsors for the 2019 Christmas Stroll are Bank of the West, City of Sheridan, Ramaco Carbon, Rocky Mountain Sign Design & Print, Sheridan Travel & Tourism, Sportsman’s Warehouse and the WYO Theater.
