Chamber Announces 2025 Awards of Excellence Recipients

SHERIDAN, WY (FEB. 26, 2026) – Following an inspiring and motivational keynote address by Jeff Mowry, head coach of the Sheridan Broncs five-time state champion football team, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of the 2025 Awards of Excellence during its 27th Annual Awards of Excellence celebration Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at the WYO Theater.
The recipients were selected by the Chamber’s membership via on-line ballot in November 2025.
“The Awards of Excellence is an unforgettable night where we recognize the businesses, organizations and individuals who strengthen our community, spark innovation in their fields and lead with vision and integrity,” said Chamber CEO Teresa Detimore. “It’s always one of the highlights of our year because we get to shine a spotlight on the remarkable work taking place across Sheridan County. It’s both energizing and inspiring.”
Each recipient is featured in the Chamber’s newly released 2026 Community Guide and Membership Directory. The guides are produced in partnership with The Sheridan Press and are available at both the Chamber’s and the Press’ offices, newsstands, the Visitor Information Center on Fifth Street and many additional locations throughout Sheridan County.

The awards presented and the recipients are:
Community Champion Award
This award honors a Chamber member individual, business or organization that has made a significant impact in Sheridan County. Understanding that a community thrives when those in it invest and contribute to its success, the nominees demonstrate vision, ambition and drive to address needs in the community and strive for the betterment of the local area.
2025 Recipient: Chase Christensen
As the superintendent and principal of Sheridan County’s smallest school district – Sheridan County School District #3 – Christensen works to help not only his district and the Arvada-Clearmont community, but all students in Sheridan County. Christensen, who was the 2025 Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals’ 2025 Principal of the Year, works and volunteers to further his vision for the district, which is based on community and teamwork.
Strength of Sheridan Award
This award honors a Chamber member business or organization that has a distinguished tenure of 20 or more years in the community. This business or organization demonstrates consistent service, continually invests in the community, meets challenges with innovative solutions and demonstrates sustained quality performance.
2025 Recipient: Babe’s Flowers
Family-owned and operated for 43 years, with the third generation now at the helm, Babe’s Flowers has built a reputation for excellence in our community. Over the years, Babe’s Flowers has adapted to challenges in the economy and changes in our community while continuing to provide consistently excellent service and touching the lives of numerous individuals by making each event special.
Business of the Year
This award honors a Chamber member business that positively impacts the economic health of the Sheridan area through exceptional business practices, customer service and innovation. This business shows steady growth and consistent strong performance, excels in community relations, practices exemplary business conduct, responds positively to adversity and shows proven business achievement.
2025 Recipient: Innominate Coffeehouse & Bakery
It can be challenging to keep a business running in a small community like Ranchester, but Innominate Coffeehouse and Bakery has created an environment that attracts people from all over for food, fellowship and music. Demand for their baked goods has grown so much that in Sheridan that they opened the “Outpost” last year, supplying the city with freshly baked goods.
Business Person of the Year
This award honors a Chamber member business person(s) who shows outstanding business acumen and strong leadership in business and community efforts. This person is a champion for economic development, strives to exceed customer expectations, delivers industry leading standards of service and quality and exhibits innovation in business development.
2025 Recipient: Emily Betzler, Bought Beautifully
In 2014, Betzler and her husband, Colin, started Bought Beautifully, which sells ethically made goods from all over the world. The store gives shoppers an opportunity to support their partner artisans and organizations, making an impact not just within the local business community but on a global scale. They operate their business with unwavering integrity and respect for all people.
