SHERIDAN, WY (Nov. 10, 2025) – The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating “30 Years of Strolling” during the 30th annual Christmas Stroll in downtown Sheridan Friday, Nov. 28.

The Sheridan Christmas Stroll has been held the day after Thanksgiving since 1996 and is the official kickoff for the holiday season in Sheridan County. Sheridan’s historic downtown is the hub of the Christmas Stroll events and activities, but businesses throughout Sheridan County participate. This year, 126 businesses are participating.

Throughout Stroll Day, there will be shopping, sales and the chance to look for button numbers and to Get Caught Shopping.

Participants can buy Stroll buttons from Stroll participating businesses or from the Chamber office and then see if their Stroll Button number matches the numbers posted in the businesses. If your button number matches, you will win a prize from that merchant valued at $50 or more. Shoppers can look for their Stroll numbers through Christmas Eve.

In addition, button holders can Get Caught Shopping locally on Stroll Day as well as the three Saturdays following Christmas Stroll. The Chamber’s elves will be going into participating Stroll businesses looking for shoppers wearing a 2025 Stroll button. If you are one of the shoppers caught by the elves, you’ll win anywhere from $25 to $200 in Chamber Bucks.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will once again take up residence at the WYO Theater, located at 42 N. Main, on Stroll Day and will visit with kids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Sheridan’s Main Street and Grinnell Plaza will close to vehicles from 4-8 p.m. for evening festivities. During this time, there will be free wagon rides on Main Street (with stops in front of ERA Carroll Realty at 306 N. Main St. and P.O. News and Flagstaff Café at 1 N. Main Street); free marshmallow roasting in Grinnell Plaza; music and caroling; and a variety of free food including hot cocoa, cider, coffee, soup, cookies and chili.  The event will culminate at 8 p.m. with a fireworks show viewable from Grinnell Plaza.

Stroll Day will also be the kickoff for the 2025 People’s Choice Lighting and Decorating Contest. Shoppers can visit each participating business, check out their indoor and outdoor decorations and lights and then vote for the business whose decorations best showcase the Stroll theme, “30 Years of Strolling” at www.sheridanwychamber.org. Voting opens Stroll morning and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Winners will be announced the following week and will receive Chamber Bucks and bragging rights.

There will be public restrooms available throughout Stroll Day at the Chamber office (54 S. Main); Cottonwood Kitchen +  Home (234 N. Main St.) and the WYO Theater (42. N. Main Street.)

Christmas Stroll would not be possible without event sponsors and other community members and businesses who contribute to the event every year. This year’s Stroll sponsors include Fremont Toyota of Sheridan; Coldwell Banker The Legacy Group; Fidelity National Title Company; Volunteers of America Northern Rockies and Foundation; Century 21 BHJ Realty Inc.; Sheridan Honda and Sheridan Powersports; Avis Rent A Car; Bloedorn Lumber; Carroll’s Furniture; KC Harvey Environmental; Lucky 7’s Gaming Parlor; Jim and Angie Navarro; PDS; Platte Hemp Co.; Powder River Energy Corporation; Security State Bank; Vacutech; and the WYO Theater.

Special thanks to 2025 Stroll Button designer Anwynn Fack as well as Alpine Climate Control; Amy Blumenstock; Bruce Burns; C&B Operations; City of Sheridan; Heartland Kubota; Sheridan Fire Department; Sheridan Media; Team Westkott – Concept Z – Home and Property; and Jack and Kathleen Wood.
