Chamber board member Kristen Czaban believes in giving back to a community she loves, and she’s done that throughout her career, serving Sheridan from the Sheridan Press newsroom, Sheridan Memorial Hospital and, most recently, on the Sheridan High School softball field.

Czaban has been a member of the Chamber board since 2023. She also serves on the Chamber’s executive committee, which has higher level discussions prior to the full board meetings and serves as the board for the Chamber’s foundation.

Below, Kristen shares a bit about herself and why she is dedicated to the Chamber’s mission.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in the Midwest before graduating from journalism school and heading west. I worked at The Sheridan Press as a reporter, editor then publisher until August 2023, when I took on my current role as Director of Marketing and Communications at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. I enjoy being involved in the community, serving on multiple nonprofit boards as well as coaching high school softball. I love the outdoors, gardening and spending time with my family.

What is your role(s) with the chamber board and/or committees and how long you have been serving on each?

I serve on the executive committee of the chamber board and participate in the Business Retention and Expansion Committee.

Editor’s Note: The mission of the chamber’s Business Retention and Expansion Committee is to develop new tools and programs to help area businesses grow and prosper, as well as planning and implementing workforce strategies that will ensure the future employability of our workers and address issues affecting business retention, productivity and economic competitiveness.

Why do you volunteer for the Chamber and what impact has it had on you?

I am a strong believer in our community and all that we can accomplish together. At the heart of many of those efforts is the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce – advocating, supporting, celebrating and growing our business community.
