Want to improve your leadership? The Ignite Conference is here to help!

Leadership can be tricky, and presenters at the upcoming Ignite Conference are here to provide advice on a variety of topics for leaders. Presenters including Stuart McRae, Kristen Czaban, Camden Easterling, Stacia Skretteberg and James Ishoy will share advice on topics ranging from public speaking and management to developing emotional intelligence and recruiting top staffers.
At 8:30 a.m., McRae will present “Ten More Good Rules for Leaders.” Building on his popular talk “Ten Good Rules for Leaders,” McRae will present ten additional, game-changing principles designed to help leaders enhance their communication, maximize efficiency and avoid burnout. Attendees will gain valuable strategies to navigate the complexities of leadership with confidence and clarity.
McRae spent 30 years with the U.S. Army, ultimately rising to the top 1% of its leadership. He was selected as a commander on multiple occasions spanning a total of nine years, and over those years, he was responsible for leading more than 9,700 soldiers. The experience also offered him the opportunity to intersect with military and civilian leaders from the highest levels of government, from whom he gleaned great life lessons. Since then, McRae has overseen the operations of the City of Sheridan for the past five years.
At 11 a.m., Czaban will lead “Seize the Moment: How to Make the Most of Public Speaking Opportunities.” Czaban will share the tricks of delivering an effective public presentation so that, even if you’re nervous, you can appear calm and ready on the surface.
Czaban leads the marketing team as director of marketing and communications at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming. Prior to joining the hospital team, she worked as a journalist, editor and publisher at The Sheridan Press for 15 years and has presented at a number of conferences, including the Wyoming Press Association, Inland Press Association and the Ignite Conference.
At 1:45 p.m., Easterling will lead “The Art of Managing Through Others.” In this session, Easterling will teach both new and seasoned managers strategies and skills for lightening their workloads while alleviating their concerns and giving others meaningful opportunities for growth.
Easterling works at Peak Consulting and has over 20 years of experience in communications and marketing along with expertise in building and leading teams. She has worked with for-profit and non-profit organizations ranging from local startups to national companies, serving in roles including consultant, in-house strategist, team leader and project manager. Easterling thrives on seeing clients, teams, projects and processes functioning seamlessly.
At 3 p.m., Skretteberg will present “Developing Emotional Intelligence for Team Success.” Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and manage our emotions as well as recognize and influence the emotions of those around you. Skretteberg will share how growing your emotional intelligence can help you build stronger relationships and achieve personal, professional and team goals.
Skretteberg has over 25 years of experience in the human resources field. Over the past 13 years, she has been providing consulting to both profit and non-profit organizations. She has held human resources and management roles in industries spanning retail, communications, hospitality and food and beverage. She provides clients with innovative human resources solutions that are easy to implement.
Also at 3 p.m., Ishoy will present “How to Recruit and Keep Your Best People.” Ishoy will discuss the four main reasons people leave organizations and what leaders need to do to keep them engaged and from looking for another job. Using the key principles taught by John Maxwell, Ishoy will guide you through the action steps leaders can take to keep their best people and attract quality candidates.
Ishoy, of Opsconn Consulting LLC, is a Certified Maxwell Leadership Executive Program Director and Former CEO. Ishoy’s extensive experience in executive-level roles in Silicon Valley manufacturing and his successful past accomplishments in leading teams to uncover company-ending field issues, launching new products and reducing operational costs – as well as his success in directing international quality operations for 40 facilities – make him uniquely qualified to help lead teams to get great results for organizations.
