Community Economic Development Task Force to Host Community Review
Members of the local Economic Development Task Force are hosting a community review sponsored and facilitated by the Wyoming Business Council (WBC). The review will take place over the next few months.
As part of the review, area residents are encouraged to take a brief survey for the WBC to gather information about what is most important to the community.
“A community review provides an opportunity to create a locally-driven vision that will help shape the community’s future,” explained Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “The benefits of a community review include identifying and helping to move your priorities forward, directing leadership decisions and strategies, increasing engagement in the community, influencing where future dollars are spent and creating a locally-driven vision for our future.”
Members of the Economic Development Task Force include the City of Sheridan, Downtown Sheridan Association, Impact 307, SEEDA, Sheridan College, Sheridan County, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce and Sheridan County Travel and Tourism.
Surveys will be available at the 3rd Thursday events in Sheridan on July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15. and online at www.sheridancounty.com or www.sheridanwy.gov. Physical surveys are also available at the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Sheridan Association offices, at 54 S. Main St. and 121 S. Main St., respectively.
In addition to the survey, listening sessions will take place in the fall of 2022. Partners will use the information gathered to help steer and shape decisions at the local level and plan to have the final report completed and available by the end of 2022.
